(SanDiego.CityRegions.Com, October 13, 2015 ) Santee, CA -- Last June Survival Hax said they would be enhancing all of their current products based on customer feedback. Their latest augmentations were done to the Survival Water Filter. The underlying filter technology will remain the same. Advanced filtration that removes bacteria at a .1 micron efficiency, removal of protozoa, and the removal of waterborne bacteria. The purifier does not use Chlorine, iodine, chemicals, and is BPA free. Unlike similar filtration straws, Survival Hax uses coconut activated carbon to remove chemical elements.
The adjustments made to the filter allow it to act more like a survival kit. The travel strap has been replaced with a paracord keychain which opens up to 5 feet of usable paracord. On one end there is a fire starter rod, scraper, and whistle - while the other side hosts a carabiner.
Rick Canton of Survival Hax said the following. "We've added 5 feet of paracord so you can fix shoe laces, mend tents, and hang bags out of the reach of predators. The fire starter can be a lifesaver if you get caught in bad weather and need to hunker down for a few hours - especially in the mountains where a few hours could mean life or death. The whistle is a great bear deterrent and is also loud enough to let rescue crews know where you are. The Paracord Survival Filter does a lot more than water filtration, and these additions are very helpful to those of our customers who try to stay light."
The upgraded water filter will be available on Amazon starting this month.
