At its launch, a Buxxu spokesperson had informed that the mugs are made of solid copper as they are essentially the Moscow Mule cooper mugs. However, later, they announced that all sorts of hot beverages like Aleberry, Apple Cider, butter tea, hot buttered rum, herbal tea, Irish coffee, hot chocolate, malted milk, mulled wine, etc. can be had without worrying about the temperature tolerance of the mugs. The mugs are equipped with bronze handles which keeps the grip from catching the heat of the rest of the body.
As for cocktails, solid copper goes best with Moscow Mule and vodka in particular. The taste of copper is likely to enrich the flavor of vodka and ginger beer. Conversely, one can even have wine and other liquor-based drinks in it. The drinks can be sipped right out of the mug or piped with a straw. Buxxu asks its users to drink with a straw for hot beverages to avoid stabs on the lips.
